About Winter Soldier
He is Captain America’s best friend and arguably his greatest rival. His name is James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes, or Bucky in short, then he was also known as Winter Soldier when the Soviet brainwashed and turned him into a cyborg killer. The character has been famously portrayed by Sebastian Stan in a number of recent Marvel cinematic universe movies. Bucky was first introduced to the audience in the first Captain America movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, as a long time best buddy of Steve Rogers who always protected Rogers from the bullies.
Then he served as a antagonist in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in which he was forced to undergo the Winter Soldier Program created by the soviet organization called HYDRA after they saved him from severe injury. To replace the missing arm, HYDRA gave Bucky a prosthetic one. Overtime, Bucky lost his past memory. He eventually became the perfect living weapon of the soviet, the Winter Soldier, due to his artificial enhanced speed, strength, the bionic arm, and so on. With these abilities beyond human, Winter Soldier was able to fight toe-to-toe with Captain America, his foe and friend.
