They may look funny and they may act hilarious, but rodeo clowns have a very important job to do when it comes to competitive rodeos. Traditionally, rodeo clowns were also bullfighters.
That means that when a rider is bucked off or has jumped from the bull, rodeo clowns act as a distraction or second target. This a dangerous job and requires harsh physical exertion and your full concentration.
