Ernest P Worrell is a fictional character initially created in 1980 by advertising agency Carden & Cherry for various local television ad campaigns in Nashville. The comedic rubber-faced character became such a hit, though, that he started doing national advertisements, TV series, TV specials, numerous feature films, as well as appearing in merchandise items.
