# | Item | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | White Round-Neck Undershirt | To keep himself warm and cozy, Steve wears a white round-neck undershirt beneath his light blue button-down. |
2 | Light Blue Collared Shirt | As part of his uniform, Steve wears a plain, light-blue, collared, button-down shirt that features short sleeves for better arm movement. |
3 | Light Blue Pants | No uniform is ever complete without a bottom, and Steve’s pants match perfectly with his light blue, collared top. |
4 | White Rubber Shoes | Being at sea does not excuse Steve from wearing comfortable footwear. He opts for white rubber shoes as he walks around the Belafonte. |
5 | Thigh Holster | When going on a voyage, there are many obstacles and challenges that one must face, and Steve knows this. That is why he keeps a holster secured on his thigh for his weapon, in case he ever needs it at once. |
6 | Black Pistol | Dealing with wayward, dangerous marine animals and pirates can be a scary thing, so Steve carries with him a handy black pistol. |
7 | Dark Aviator Shades | Sailing the oceans to look for a mythical shark may not be a relaxing vacation, but it doesn’t mean that Steve isn’t allowed to look stylish. He puts on dark aviator shades when it gets a little too sunny outside. |
8 | Bright Red Beanie | No Steve Zissou costume is complete without his iconic bright red beanie. |
9 | Team Zissou Patch | To mark that he’s part of the team, Steve has a ‘Team Zissou’ patch on the front of his short-sleeved shirt. |
10 | Id card | optional |

As he and his crew embark on their epic journey, Steve is seen wearing his iconic bright red beanie and an all-blue ensemble. Here’s everything you need to look like Steve Zissou.
About Steve Zissou
Wes Anderson’s film The Aquatic Life with Steve Zissou is heavily inspired by and dedicated to Jacques Yves-Cousteau. Cousteau was a filmmaker and pioneer of marine conservation. In fact, Steve’s outfit was a homage to one of Cousteau’s most iconic looks, especially the red beanie. Steve’s ship, Belafonte, was designed to be the likeness of Cousteau’s own ship, the Calypso. Even the name Belafonte is a salute to Cousteau as Belafonte was a famous calypso singer.
